Biedermeier Chair

Our chair replicates an antique Biedermeier chair with origins of Frankfurt, Germany, dated 1830. We chose a very fine Austrian leather to compliment this set, however the chairs can be upholstered in any fabric the decorator specifies. 46" x 30 ½"H

Biedermeier Table, c.1830

This Biedermeier table is a replica of one made in southern Germany. The top is cherry wood veneered in a star pattern and the single pedestal rises from a tripartite base. The light color is very typical of Biedermeier furniture, a style that became fashionable during the first half of the 19th century in Austria, Germany, and Sweden. Biedermeier was a subdued response to the powerful Empire style of furnishings fashionable in England at the time. We find many highly elegant pieces of Empire furnishings adorning some of our most distinguished homes today.
